2010 Silver Caduceus Association Reunion

August 26 to 29 - Colorado Springs, Colorado

The SCA Reunion 2010 Committee has worked tirelessly to plan a fantastic and enjoyable Reunion. To date, over 160 people have indicated they plan to make Colorado Springs their reunion vacation destination and visit with their fellow SCA members.

Many special social events are planned to include touring the Colorado Springs landmark Garden of the Gods, Golf at the AF Academy, touted as the best course in DoD, free time to sightsee on your own, musical entertainment by the AF Academy Band Quartet and an interesting array of speakers covering a wide variety of current topics.

Delicious meals are planned every day featuring unique Colorado cuisine. On Thursday, at the time of registration, attendees will receive: (1) schedule of reunion events; (2) Golf sign-up/registration.

A superb time is planned for everyone attending the SCA Reunion 2010!

DEADLINE:  If you register by mail, your registration must arrive in San Antonio no later than 15 August 2010.  Registration after that date must be done in person upon arrival in Colorado Springs.

Board of Directors Meeting,  2:00-4:00 pm,  2nd Floor Boardroom, signs posted
Welcome Reception,  6:30 -8:30 pm, Patio Terrace, Cash Bar, Casual Dress
(The Welcome Reception is sponsored and paid for by the SCA)

FRIDAY  8:30-11:45, Salon A.B.C,&D.  Plenary Session

FRIDAY  12:00-4:30 pm   Garden of the Gods The Park was established in 1859, with unique vertical & vaulted rock formation geology, mineral, fossil beds & Native American culture sanctuary. TOUR includes Grey Line Bus travel, an historical guided tour by bus through the park, lunch, entertainment, shopping at the SW Art Center.
Bring your cameras!  $36.00 per person.                   

FRIDAY  6:00-7:15pm Cash Bar, 7:15- 8:30 pm  Colorado Style Buffet, AF Academy Golf Club.  Casual dress.  Wendy Adams and the Executive Chef have planned a delicious dining experience at the Golf Clubhouse dining room and veranda. 
THE BUFFET IS FOR EVERYONE.  Bring your camera as you may witness some of the local wildlife and superb scenery.  $28.00 per person, inclusive of coffee, tea and dessert.

SATURDAY  8:30-11:45, Salon A,B,C,&D.  Plenary Session                              

SATURDAY 6:00 pm Cash Bar, 7:00-10:30 pm SCA Banquet Hotel Salon
Coat and Tie for the men,  Evening or Cocktail Dress for the Ladies, Live Entertainment, Dancing to the great hits, presented by a 1940’s Quartet Music Revue “In the Mood”  by retired AF Academy Band Members -- Bring Your Dancing Shoes!   $48.00 per person.

From Colorado Springs Airport, right on Powers Rd, left on E. Fountain Rd/US 24, merge North (right) on I-25, exit Rockrimmon Rd & turn left (West), go under I-25, turn left on Tech Center Dr, The Marriott Hotel entrance on right.

From Denver Airport, stay on Pena Blvd, merge west on I-70, immediately look for I-225/Colorado Springs Exit, merge south on I-225 for several miles, merge south into I-25 to Colorado Springs, go 60 miles, exit right (West) onto Rockrimmon Rd turn left at Tech Center Dr, Marriott Hotel entrance on right

Climate-Elevation-Weather

  • Colorado Springs is a combination of an arid and mountain climate terrain. Our elevation is between 6,200 ft up to 7,100 ft at the AF Academy. Very dry, no humidity

  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, bring a camera, eye drops and body/hand lotion for moistening skin

  • Wear layered clothing to stay warmer after the sun sets west of the Rockies

  • Dress is casual throughout the 3 days except for the Saturday night banquet, Coat & Tie (men) and Cocktail or Evening Wear (ladies)
