New SCA Officers and Board of Directors
Introduction to the Officers and Board from SCA's new president, George Waters, Jr.:
First and foremost, I would like to commend our founding officers and previous boards for their
hard work and outstanding accomplishments. It was indeed a daunting task to establish
approval and register the SCA with the State of Texas, write the Constitution and Bylaws,
obtain federal and state tax exempt status, establish the SCA Website, develop a scholarship
program, etc.
Let me, with great honor, present the current SCA Board Members and Staff Officers to you.
The members and staff officers of the SCA Board were approved in August 2010 at the SCA
General Membership Meeting. Serving you are:
Officers: George Waters, Jr., President; James Vinci, Vice-president; Jim Martin, Treasurer; and Garrett Baron, Secretary.
There are eleven members that make up the Board of Directors of which seven are elected and the remaining four are the officers of the organization.
The seven elected for a four year term are: David Bitterman, Thomas Hill, Ed Hollingsworth, Earl McSwain, Ed Shockley, Dawn Smith, and Doug Stephens.
I am very thankful and delighted with the composition of the SCA Board; it has members to
ensure continuity as well as add fresh ideas and new insight. I am confident that these features
will help the SCA in maintaining stability while at the same time enhancing the momentum of
operational achievements.
The SCA Board is proud to be at the helm of our relativeiy young organization. The SCA has
flourished as the previous boards have been methodical in their efforts to establish a sound
foundation and to chart a determined path into the future. It is incumbent upon the current SCA
Board Members and Officers to keep the Association on its course of action and move it
forward. In this regard, the SCA Board accepts the challenge to be creative, focused,
resourceful, and energetic as we pioneer in unknown territories and explore new horizons in an
effort to embellish the SCA Brand. We will work passionately to meet the needs of the SCA
Membership; moreover, we are asking all the members to assist as we move forward.
The officers, directors and committee chairman are scattered all over the country. Any of the officers, Board of Directors and chairman of various committees can be contacted at the post office address:
